Marketplace vs in-house QR
Know when an order is marketplace delivery versus seated QR — and which app to watch.
Two different channels
QR and digital menu ordering serve guests already at your location. Marketplace orders come from the Foodma customer app for discovery, pickup, or delivery.
Mixing them up causes missed tickets: the vendor mobile app is for marketplace; QR tickets show with your POS / kitchen stream.
When to use QR
- Table service where guests order without waiting for a waiter.
- Quick-service rooms where a shared menu link reduces counter queues.
- Events or pop-ups where you want orders without app installs.
When to use marketplace
- Reach customers who are not already in your dining room.
- Offer delivery or city-wide pickup through Foodma logistics where available.
- Fulfill from the vendor mobile app (and portal orders list) — not from the table QR flow.
Run both without chaos
Keep one person or screen responsible for marketplace notifications during rush, while Foodpos and KDS own in-house tickets. Menu availability in the portal should stay accurate for both channels.
